GEORGIOUPOLI & BEACH

The Villa is less than 3 km from the bustling family friendly town of Giorgioupoli with its tavernas, marina and tourist services (shops & supermarkets). The long Blue Flag sandy beach (10km) is wonderful for swimming and walking; the beach bars and tavernas are very welcoming and usually offer free sun beds and umbrellas for customers.  Our Villa is also just 3 km from the nature reserve and waterside tavernas of Kournas Lake.

AROUND US

Our area of Apokoronas, with its olive, avocado and orange groves, is beautiful and unusual offering a great variety of places to visit and things to do. There are many small towns to visit such as Vrysses, Vamos, Kalives, Kefalas and Kokkino Chorio (where Zorba the Greek was partly filmed!). Inland and close by, the Lake of Kournas is an unusual Nature Reserve where you can enjoy a meal  in one of the waterside tavernas or boat on the lake. For hikers, there are many walks to suit different levels of ability all around and guide books are available in the villa.

If you want to go further afield, we are just an hour from the beautiful south coast and Libyan Sea. The easy drive is stunning, the road is quiet and it’s well worth it. For cultural highlights, nightlife, buzzing bars and excellent restaurants, especially seafood, you can visit the lovely cities of Chania or Rethymnon. Nearby Georgioupolis is a small but bustling centre for tourism as well and you can arrange tours and trips to explore other parts of the island such as the beautiful beach of Balos or you can just enjoy a local fishing trip! You will never be short of things to do!
